Bar Harbour Camp is still looking and accepting applications for several positions. Please review the following descriptions. Interested persons should complete the corresponding application form. Persons accepted are required to attend the staff training days in early July. Cabin Counsellors are required to work for at least one camp, all other positions are expected to be available for the duration of the summer. If you have any questions please contact the camp.

All staff who work at camp enjoy working with children and youth ages 6-15. Staff are enthusiastic and excited facilitators of a safe and fun summer camp for all participants.
The Assistant Cook assist the Cook in all kitchen activities: planning & implementing nutritional meals for approximately 75 persons; be familiar with any allergies or dietary needs that must be accommodated for each camp; ordering groceries and kitchen supplies and preparing all meals and snacks each day on schedule; preparing and cleaning the kitchen for camp and clean out the kitchen after camp. The kitchen area and equipment will be kept in a clean and orderly manner while maintaining provincial health standards.
The Assistant Cook, in consultation with the Cook and Program Coordinator, may provide supervised programs for camps in the kitchen.
The Assistant Cook must be familiar with camp emergency procedures, and will respect and comply with all camp policies and procedures. The Assistant Cook is not required to live on site.
The Assistant Cook is directly responsible to the Cook, and ultimately the Camp Director. All staff promote a Christian community, based on United Church belief, in which we are all treated with respect to make each camp experience a unique and fulfilling one for all participants.
This position is deemed to be a 3A level of Risk Assessment with limited responsibility and authority for the safety of campers, staff and facility.
Qualifications:
must be a minimum age of 18 years on the first day of camp
Standard First Aid certification
be able to attend Staff Training July 1-5, 2008
Renumeration:
$425 per week (max. 7 weeks), includes room and board
Deadline for applications:
May 1, 2008 (applications will continue to be received past this date if sufficient numbers have not applied)
You may choose to be available for some or all summer camps. Please note that preference will be given to applicants who are able to attend all camps.
