Summer Camps

All of our summer camps take place at Bar Harbour Camp located on the south-east shore of Buffalo Lake on 100 acres of secluded private land about 20 km north of Stettler, Alberta. We offer a variety of camps for ages 6 through to 17. Campers live in cabins with 6 to 10 other campers and participate in a wide variety of camp activities from beach activities, swimming, games, recreational activities, canoeing, campfires and sports

Bar Harbour Camp Offers:

A natural lakeshore setting, acres of unspoiled land, sandy beach, clean lake, dry cabins, hot showers, flush toilets, modern kitchen and dining hall, large campfire area, outdoor chapel, ball diamond, sports field, volleyball nets, nutritious and balanced meals, and a caring, fun atmosphere. 

Bar Harbour Camp is accredited by both the United Church Camping Association and the Alberta Camping Association. Campers are under the supervision of qualified, caring, and trained staff. Lifeguards and Medical Staff are certified and onsite at all times. All staff members are required to submit a criminal record check and maintain current first aid certification.

2012 CAMP DATES

Scamper Camp
Ages: 6 - 8 

Cost: $110
Scamper Camp:

August 8-10, 2012

This two night, three day camp is a great way for kids to get into the camping spirit. Teddy bears welcome!

 

 

Junior Camps
Ages: 9 - 12 


Cost: $240

Junior Camp #1: July 8-13, 2012

Junior Camp #2: July 15-20, 2012

Junior Camp #3: August 12-17, 2012

A full week (five nights, six days) provides boys and girls a chance to meet new friends, try new activities, and enjoy the traditional camping lifestyle. Come for one or sign up for all three!

 

Intermediate Camp
Ages: 13 - 15
Cost: $240

Intermediate Camp: July 22-27, 2012

Camp experience tailored for a more “grown-up” audience. There are more choices for sessions, we sleep in a little longer and stay up a little later.


*NEW* Senior Youth Camp
Ages: 15-17

 

Cost: $240

Senior Youth Camp:

July 29- August 3, 2012

A camping experience for high school students, with lots of time for friends. This camp may include out trips.

 

Leaders in Training- Work Experience
Ages: 15-17

Cost: FREE
Leaders in Training (LIT) Camp: July 2-6, 2012

 

Earn highs school credits while having fun! Leaders in training get the opportunity to earn between 3 and 5 credits applicable to any Alberta high school student. L.I.T.s are required to volunteer for a minimum of one camp in the season after completing their July 11th to 15th activities. For more details, e-mail info@barharbourcamp.com

  • Toothbrush, toothpaste, soap & shampoo
  • Towels
  • Sunscreen & Bug Spray
  • Clothes for each day
  • Sweaters & Jacket
  • Bathing Suit
  • Hat, Shoes, & Sandals 
  • Flashlight
  • Any required medications

Feel free to bring: camera, ball glove, raincoat, rubber boots, old campfire blanket, pen, notebook, guitar, water shoes, or a book to read.

Please leave cell phones, iPods, walkmans and electronic games at home. Campers are advised to mark all belongings as Bar Harbour will not be responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged articles
